Through these models, organic architectural forms can be generated, engaging with the eye of the viewer and creating a texture which is able to be experienced without being physically touched.
In forming curved shapes from otherwise rigid and straight objects, the exploitation of materials is evident, and the discovery of experimentation is clearly valuable. In pushing the boundaries of natural materials such as timbers, we as designers can reach new ranges of innovation and explore impossibility.
The tension, compression, shadow and curvelinear formation are evident within each model, allowing for this tactility to be expressed in an artistic yet architectural manner. The tensegrity of each model further establishes the underlying theme mandatory to design - biomimicry, the transferal of natural systems to design and further engineering.
