Even though the assessment is over I still feel obliged to keep this blog going! So here are some case studies I found whilst completing my 3D + D Architecture Project.

Preexisting Movement = Sustainable Energy
Rocking Chair Uses Motion to Power Attached Lamp
The kinetic movement of rocking in the chair not only becomes a relaxing experience for the user but also becomes an environmentally sustainable implementation in which converts an effortless motion into a useful
application.
Speed Bumps Harvest Electricity from Moving Cars
The motion power of this speed bump is still a work-in-progress, however the conceptual idea that the movement of the car creates energy could definitely be installed within the project for the Howard Smith Wharves site. When the pressure of the car engages with the plates of the bump, gears inside are pushed and twisted in order to create a spinning action, therefore producing energy. If this energy could be stored, then installing this technology along the story bridge would be sufficient in providing enough energy for an entire building.
